Give your acoustic instruments the sound they deserve with the Telefunken TF11 FET, an Alchemy Series large-diaphragm condenser microphone designed to give you an open, airy sound while handling high SPLs up to 135 dB free of distortion. Suitable for project studios, commercial facilities, and the stage, this cardioid microphone delivers a sound similar to the world-renowned C12 along with ultralow-noise performance of just 4 dBA.
The mic utilizes circuitry that promises an open, detailed, and dimensional sound across its frequency range. The TF11 FET shares components in common with other Telefunken Elektroakustik designs, such as its single-membraned, CK12-style, edge-terminated capsule. The built-in amplifier comprises a proprietary take on a FET mic amplifier similar to the M60. This is coupled with a custom, large-format, nickel-iron core transformer fashioned by OEP/Carnhill, a renowned manufacturer. The mic also makes use of premium film capacitors and Nichicon Fine Gold electrolytic capacitors, contributing to its quiet, yet characterful sonic pickup.
Featuring a CK12-style, edge-terminated capsule, a proprietary FET-based amplifier, and a premium UK-made output transformer, the TF11 has a beautifully open and detailed frequency response, exceptionally fast transient response, high SPL handing, and low self-noise.
Designed, hand-assembled, and tested in the USA, all critical components are subject to the same high standards as the rest of Telefunken's Elektroakustik product line. Each critical component is rigorously tested prior to installation, including capsule frequency response, transistor noise, and distortion. After assembly, all TF11 amplifiers are hand tuned to elicit their optimum performance.
Finished in a deep indigo blue powder coat with black nickel hardware, the TF11 retains the same form factor as other Alchemy Series microphones, but shortens the length by one inch. This low-profile size, combined with the lack of external power supply or the proprietary cable of a tube microphone, make the TF11 easy to set up, break down, and transport.
