TC-Helicon MP-85 Dynamic Microphone

Elevate your live vocal performances with the MP-85 from TC Helicon, a specially designed dynamic mic with a supercardioid pickup pattern that strongly rejects off-axis noises and feedback. With its Lismer 2 mic capsule, the MP-5 delivers a transparent vocal tone ideal for performances on crowded stages and use with FX processors.

Thanks to the integrated Mic Control technology, the MP-85 can be programmed via TC Helicon vocal processors to control a range of essential vocal FX functions over simple XLR cabling, compatible only with TC Helicon devices. The mic body sports an integrated pop filter with a dual-suspension shockmount that helps to further reduce unwanted noises for a clean vocal sound. The MP-85 includes a carrying case and a mic clip with 5/8 and 3/8" mic stand adapters for universal compatibility.

Control Your Performance with Mic Control

With Mic Control, you choose what your button controls, when to activate effects, and where on stage to trigger those moments. Want to switch to a new preset for the chorus? Add effects to your loop? Punch in a custom tone on your second verse? You can do all of this, and so much more. This functionality is compatible only with TC Helicon vocal FX processors, which provide the MP-85 with a trickle of phantom power (no batteries required) to control FX functions. This power is not required for regular operation.

The MP-85 features a supercardioid dynamic Lismer 2 capsule with a wide responsive range and a high output. A dual-material diaphragm with light and rigid sections produces optimal high frequency response. This means you are going to get a uniform vocal performance that cuts through the mix. The frequency response of the MP-85 is particularly suited to high-power female vocals.

The MP-85 has been specially designed to deliver some of the best off-axis feedback suppression in its class as well as rejection of pitched sources nearby that can impact harmony and other pitch-sensitive effects. This means that the mic rejects what you don't need in the signal, focusing solely on the power of your voice.
