Product highlights and buying context
Designed to deliver ultimate accuracy, realism, and musicality, the Steven Slate Digital VSX Immersion Oneopen-back studio headphones feature custom-tuned planar magnetic drivers with ultra-thin one-micron diaphragms, housed in elegant maple wood shells. The sound of Immersion One is clean, spacious, and natural on its own, but when paired with the Steven Slate Audio VSX software, they transcend traditional listening, unlocking a most immersive and lifelike spatial monitoring experience.
The open-back design creates an incredibly convincing 3D illusion of real speakers in real spaces. The included VSX Platinum software gives you access to dozens of meticulously modeled speaker systems in legendary studios, mastering houses, cars, clubs, and more. You’ll find emulations of popular consumer and professional headphone models, ensuring your mixes translate everywhere. Immersion One includes a protective carrying case and a premium hand-wound dual-ear audiophile cable.
Poor monitoring environments and substandard room acoustics make it exceedingly hard to trust what you're hearing. Bad monitoring environments can lead to frustrated mixers and producers releasing substandard product. Pro studios can overcome these challenges by hiring acousticians, but those who work at home don't have the same control over their space or budget to hire professionals to sort out their rooms. The VSX offers producers and mixers the ability to produce and mix in re-creations of precisely tuned listening environments, including famous professional mixing and mastering studios.
Place the VSX plug-in at the end of your chain, and you'll be able to switch between different environments at the click of a button. In many environments, you can switch among near-, mid-, and far-field speakers. You can also adjust the amount of room reflections present in the resultant sound. Furthermore, you can EQ most of the environments to tailor the sound to your liking.
The Platinum Bundle includes all the studios and spaces as well as free upgrades to more studios and spaces when released. The complete Platinum Bundle, comes with studios like NRG, Zuma, and Archon Studio whose owners spared no expense making them the world's best-sounding places to make music. Then, virtually reference your mix in a Hi-Fi Sedan car, through a classic reference boombox, and through expensive popular mixing headphones. This is truly the ultimate listening reference.
One of the biggest challenges in the modern home studio is accurate monitoring, which is why so many music makers have to check their mixes in their cars, only to hear lots of mistakes. This is caused when mixing, by overcompensating for the dips and peaks created by their home studio speakers' frequency response and acoustical issues. Even pro studios face these same challenges. But VSX offers producers and mixers the ability to hear their music in precisely tuned listening environments. Mixing with VSX makes getting perfect mixes almost effortless.
