Popular among professional audio engineers, the matte gray Schoeps Colette CMC 1 L Microphone Amplifiers and MK 22 Open-Cardioid Capsules Stereo Set is an ultracompact, space-saving Colette Series modular microphone bundle that includes two CMC 1 L (mini LEMO output) miniature microphone amplifiers, a matched pair of MK 22 wide-cardioid mic capsules, two K 5 LU LEMO to XLR 3-pin male cables, two SGC miniature stand mounts with swivels, two B 5 D hollow-foam pop screens, and a premium case for secure transport and storage.

The MK 22 capsule is popular for use as a spot or soloist's microphone, as the mid microphone for M/S, or as a main microphone pair. Its open-cardioid polar pattern offers the optimal combination of directionality (MK 4 cardioid) and warm sound characteristics (MK 22 wide cardioid). The highly consistent frequency response leads to natural sound quality.

Thanks to the inclusion of the ultracompact CMC 1 L amplifier, this bundle serves as a lighter and smaller alternative to the acclaimed CMC 6 amplifier without compromising sonic performance.

The matte gray Schoeps CMC 1 L is a miniature Colette Series microphone amplifier offering uncompromising high fidelity in a lightweight and ultracompact form factor for studio recording, broadcast, and live stage applications. Presented as an alternative to the renowned Schoeps CMC 6 amplifier, the CMC 1 L is compatible with all existing MK mic capsules and Colette active accessories (all available separately).

It features a balanced mini LEMO output, compliance with 12V or 48V phantom power, and low current consumption. Its Schoeps RFI Shield provides high immunity from RF interference for a clean, low-noise signal. The CMC 1 L supports the high maximum SPLs tolerated by the various MK mic capsules (available separately). A stand adapter and a 16.4' mini LEMO to XLR 3-pin male adapter cable are supplied with the CMC 1 L.

Electrical characteristics of the CMC 1 L are equal to, or even better than, those of the CMC 6 (flat frequency response, very low distortion, and constant output impedance across the audio frequency range)

The matte gray MK 22 Microphone Capsulefrom Schoeps comes as a matched pair, and has open cardioid directional pattern, occupying a point on the spectrum between the wide cardioid and classic cardioid patterns. The response is -5 dB at 90° and there is 16 dB suppression of rear-incident sound. It is in essence a variant cardioid which balances a very natural sound quality with a good degree of directionality.

This capsule’s sonic transparency and good suppression of rear-incident sound make it a universal problem-solver. This capsule has wide cardioid that offers an alternative when its lower directivity fits the recording situation, e.g., for the first desk of strings or for solo piano.
