Popular among professional audio engineers, the matte gray Schoeps Colette CMC 1 L Microphone Amplifiers and MK 21 Wide-Cardioid Capsules Stereo Set is an ultracompact, space-saving Colette Series modular microphone bundle that includes two CMC 1 L (mini LEMO output) miniature microphone amplifiers, a matched pair of MK 21 wide-cardioid mic capsules, two K 5 LU LEMO to XLR 3-pin male cables, two SGC miniature stand mounts with swivels, two B 5 D hollow-foam popscreens, and a premium case for secure transport and storage.

The MK 21 capsule's preferred uses is as a soloist microphone or main microphone. It's wide-cardioid capsule combines the advantages of an omni (warm sound) and a cardioid (directivity) capsule. The extremely consistent polar response leads to a very natural sound. The low-frequency behavior of the MK 21 is better than that of the cardioid, and proximity effect is less pronounced.

Thanks to the inclusion of the ultracompact CMC 1 L amplifier, this bundle serves as a lighter and smaller alternative to the acclaimed CMC 6 amplifier without compromising sonic performance.

The matte gray Schoeps CMC 1 L is a miniature Colette Series microphone amplifier offering uncompromising high fidelity in a lightweight and ultracompact form factor for studio recording, broadcast, and live stage applications. Presented as an alternative to the renowned Schoeps CMC 6 amplifier, the CMC 1 L is compatible with all existing MK mic capsules and Colette active accessories (all available separately).

It features a balanced mini LEMO output, compliance with 12V or 48V phantom power, and low current consumption. Its Schoeps RFI Shield provides high immunity from RF interference for a clean, low-noise signal. The CMC 1 L supports the high maximum SPLs tolerated by the various MK mic capsules (available separately). A stand adapter and a 16.4' mini LEMO to XLR 3-pin male adapter cable are supplied with the CMC 1 L.

Electrical characteristics of the CMC 1 L are equal to, or even better than, those of the CMC 6 (flat frequency response, very low distortion, and constant output impedance across the audio frequency range)

The matte gray MK 21 Microphone Capsulefrom Schoeps comes as a matched pair, and has a directional pattern between omni and cardioid. This capsule is designed to combine the advantages of the cardioid with those of the omni. This results in a pickup pattern which blends the 2 sets of characteristics. It has full and extended low-frequency response, with less proximity effect, while picking up more room sound.

The directivity of this capsule is slightly dependent on frequency. This contrasts with omnidirectional capsules, whose directivity increases with rising frequency, and with cardioids (at least smaller ones), which tend to accentuate high frequencies that arrive at oblique angles.
