Get started with a radio-capable lighting system by picking up the Matrix MCD400R 400Ws Monolight 2-Light Kit from Photogenic. Packing together two monolights along with a 16-channel remote transmitter, a 45" white umbrella with black backing, a 24 x 32" softbox with mounting ring, and two 8' air-cushioned light stands, users will have a variety of options for creating a beautiful one- or two-light setup. The monolights themselves are nicely featured with a 400Ws output supported by a 6-stop power range and a recycle time of just 1.7 seconds at full power. It can also be adjusted in precise 1/10-stop increments and has a 150W modeling light for previewing your setup. Other features of these monolights include a user-replaceable flashtube, an integrated cooling fan, an optical slave, and more. Additionally, this kit includes a wheeled soft case with handle for storing all of these items.
The Matrix MCD400R 400Ws Monolight with Transmitter from Photogenic offers speed, lightweight, and core and convenience features usually found in flash heads twice its price.
The 400Ws Matrix recycles to full power in a fast 1.7 seconds with short flash durations that capture even the most fleeting gestures. Power is variable over 6 stops from 1/32 to full power, adjustable on the flash head's digital display in 1/10 stop increments. The bright 150W modeling light can be set to proportional to let you pre-visualize your final shot, a great benefit especially when using multiple light setups. The MCD400R's UV-corrected, user-replaceable flash tube ensures accurate rendition of colors right down to the subtlest of hues. The lifetimes of both the flashtube and modeling lamp are lengthened by the fan cooling in the high-impact polymer head.
The MCD400R comes with a 12' sync cord, but its integrated radio receiver allows wireless triggering even through walls and other obstacles using the included transmitter. Convenience features include soft push button back panel control and a ratcheting tilt handle that ensures precise, secure placement of your flash head. The Matrix MCD400R comes with a 7" reflector and is compatible with a wide range of optional accessories including grids, snoots, parabolic reflectors, softboxes, and umbrellas.
This Photogenic EC45BC Eclipse 45" White Flat-Panel Umbrella with its removable black cover has an extra white satin panel added during construction. The result is the elimination of the reflection of the metal frame of the umbrella in the eyes of your subject, or on highly reflective surfaces, such as chrome or brass.
Note: Using this umbrella with modeling lights or constant lights brighter than 300 watts for prolonged sessions will result in eventual discoloration or scorching.
The Photogenic 24 x 32" Rectangular Softbox with Mounting Ring for Photogenic Studiomax II and III Monolights softens the light output from these fixtures. It has an internal diffusion panel, rods, speed ring for Studiomax heads, and a storage case.
