The Photogenic AKC325K 320W/s Basic Studio 2 Light Soft Box Kit (120V AC) is a great way to achieve studio-quality lighting in-house or on location at a price point that won't strain your budget. The kit is built around the lightweight, dependable StudioMax III flash head. Like its big brother the Solair flash head, the StudioMax III employs Constant Color Technology. While it's quite common for other brands' color temperature to vary wildly when dropping from full to minimum power, the StudioMax III varies a virtually indiscernible 200K from full to 1/128 power. The two 160W/s heads are capable of fast recycling (1.5 sec.) at full power as well as fast flash durations at minimum power which is ideal for capturing every fleeting gesture with subjects in motion like athletes or dancers.

Of course they're great for product work or portraiture as well and Photogenic has you covered on both counts. Included in the kit is 24 x 32" soft box- an ideal source for head and shoulders portraits. The 45" umbrella is perfect for use as a fill light. Two air-cushioned 8.0' light stands are provided to support the heads and protect them from shock when adjusting their height. It all fits in a soft-sided, wheeled carrying case.

The Photogenic AKC160 Studiomax III 160W/s Monolight is an ideal way to add a lightweight (2.6 lb) fixture to your kit for a main light, backlight or fill light. The AKC160 offers a six stop power range from 5.0 to 160W/s, steplessly adjustable via a simple knob. Constant Color technology ensures that the color balance remains within 200K of an ideal 5,400K regardless of the power level chosen, to insure shot to shot consistency and minimize post-production work.

The AKC160 comes with a UV color corrected, user-replaceable flash tube that renders fabrics and flesh tones accurately. The monolight comes with a 7.5" high-gain reflector but accepts the entire line of Photogenic Quick-Change reflectors, grids, snoots, and diffusers. An AC cord, sync cord, 100W quartz modeling lamp and a protective cap are also included.

The AKC160 recycles to full power (160W/s) in only 1.5 seconds, and 0.5 sec. at minimum power to catch even the most fleeting gestures

It gathers and intensifies the light output of the flash head. It can be used with any umbrella, and all Photogenic Powerlight accessories, such as barndoors, grid holders and filter holders.

The Photogenic C4-12C Color Corrected Flash Tube is a replacement flash tube for select StudioMax II and StudioMax III flash heads.
