Pegasus Astro NYX-88 Strain Wave Gear Mount

Small, strong, and precise, the NYX-88 Strain Wave Gear Mountfrom Pegasus Astro is a travel-friendly motorized telescope mount for viewing and capturing the night sky. It offers alt-az operation for observation and go-to equatorial tracking for astrophotography, with smooth strain wave gearing for both the RA and DEC axes. The mount is controlled via Wi-Fi or USB and supports ASCOM Alpaca, INDI, and Unity, Pegasus Astro's app.

The compact mount weighs just 11 lb and supports 31 lb of gear with no counterweight, or 44 lb with a counterweight and optional mounting bar—ideal for travel.

Combining a stepper motor and belt drive with sophisticated electronics, the RA axis achieves 0.15 arcseconds of resolution, offering very low periodic error for ultrasmooth and stable tracking down to sub-arcsecond accuracy.

Alt-azimuth mode for observation switches easily to equatorial mode for tracking during long-exposure astrophotography.

An ST-4 port is available for compatibility with Pegasus Astro's dedicated NYX hand controller or an ST-4 guiding camera.

NYX mounts are controlled and fully configured through a Unity Platform via USB or Wi-Fi channel. The included ASCOM driver supports multiple clients. The mount fully supports ASCOM 7, ASCOM Alpaca, and INDI framework. Sky-Safari is also supported for controlling the mount from your mobile device.

In the event of a power failure, a brake is instantly applied to the RA axis to prevent the telescope and equipment from falling and resulting in damage or injury

A 12 VDC / 5A power supply with a two-pin GX-12 input jack is included with the mount. It consumes less than 0.6A during tracking and up to 2A during slewing.
