Product highlights and buying context
A trustworthy tool for your creative journey, the Nikon Z5 II upgrades its predecessor with improved processing speed, subject recognition AF, and low-light performance. With a new color preset button, an ultra-bright viewfinder, and easy sharing options, the camera offers a step up to creators seeking full-frame imagery.
The EXPEED 7 processor also unlocks Pre-Release Capture, a feature that helps make decisive moment shots easier by recording frames in a burst of up to 30 fps for up to a second prior to actually releasing the shutter. When this feature is activated, burst shooting will commence when the shutter is half-pressed, and the buffer will retain the frames after fully pressing the shutter.
Built into the body is a 5-axis sensor-shift Vibration Reduction (VR) mechanism that compensates for up to five stops of stabilization regardless of the lens in use. With compatible lenses, up to 7.5 stops of stabilization is possible. Also, benefitting video recording, Electronic VR is available to help steady footage to suit handheld shooting.
Nikon has added a Picture Control button atop the Z5 II to make access to its 31 built-in presets available even in Auto mode. The color presets can now be overlaid in the rear LCD screen, giving you the ability to visualize the color shifts as you create. Creator Recipes built by fellow Nikon shooters are available through the Nikon Imaging Cloud and can be downloaded and integrated alongside the presets.
Featuring an updated optical design and refined focusing system, the Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 Di III VXD G2 is a Nikon Z-mount zoom offering a versatile wide-to-portrait-length range and bright f/2.8 maximum aperture. Revamped optics yield higher resolution and improved sharpness over the previous generation, and the focusing system has been replaced with a VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) mechanism that achieves faster, more precise performance to suit both stills and video applications. As the second generation of this popular lens, this updated version also sees refinements to the exterior design of the lens, a closer minimum focusing distance of 7.1", and a new connector port for streamlining the process of working with Tamron Lens Utility software to adjust lens settings.
Designed for full-frame Nikon Z-mount cameras, the Tamron 70-180mm f/2.8 Di III VC VXD G2 Lens expands the capabilities of its mid-range telephoto zoom, and is now outfitted with Vibration Compensation image stabilization, improved compatibility with high-speed and high-precision autofocus, plus support for the Tamron Lens Utility software and the Lens Utility Mobile app. The optical design has new levels of image quality across the entire zoom range. The lens is compact, lightweight, easy to handle, and allows you to shoot with greater stability. The construction is moisture resistant for worry-free use in wet weather, and the fluorine-coated front element protects against fingerprints and smudging.
