The integrated lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery provides 4.5 hours of use as a high-output floodlight and 12.5 hours of use as a low-output floodlight. The included AC/DC adapter can be used to charge the battery or operate the light from an outlet. The LED bulbs are white, and both usage modes are controlled by a single rocker switch.

By using one of the three built-in magnets at the tip of the light, the middle of the body, and the base, the light can be positioned anywhere it's needed. The included 360-degree swiveling magnetic hook can also be attached for hands-free operation. If hanging isn't an option, the NSR-2168 can stand on its flat bottom or be laid on its side—the octagonal design prevents it from rolling. The glass-filled nylon polymer housing features a user-replaceable lens. The housing is resistant to impact and chemicals, and it offers a dust- and water-resistant rating of IPX4, so it can continue to perform when needed, even in harsh environments.
