Neutral density (ND) lenses decrease the light that enters your camera's onboard lens. ND filter kits help you create motion blur by slowing shutter speed, which is useful when shooting physical movement or running water sources. Mixed filter sets may contain ND, underwater, solid color, polarizers, or close-up lenses.
A staple of ND kits is a circular polarizer filter. Circular polarizers make it easier for you to control the strength of polarized light. Controlling polarized light can sharpen contrast and provide higher resolution. ND filter kits may also include soft effects and diffusion filters such as soft-edge graduated ND filters. ND filters can reduce shadow and glare when using large apertures with flash. They're popular with landscape and sports photographers because they capture movement without blur by filtering light and slowing down shutter speed.
Filter kits can include solid color effect filters in warm red or yellow, or cooling filters such as blue. Getunderwater filtersto take clear photos of sea life with certain models of waterproof cameras. Close-up filters essentially perform the same function as a magnifying glass. Blurring chances increase with close-up lens filters, but using them creates unique perspectives on seemingly simple items. Long exposure filters help reduce bright and infrared light and slow shutter speed. Use macro filter lens kits to shorten your focus, and when working with distance while increasing magnification. Macro filters also help narrow your onboard lens' field of view, so subjects that are farther away photograph clearly.
