* Authentic Tuning 1. Utmost care was taken to capture in the finest detail the authentic tuning and unique character of each instrument 2. World instruments have unique tonality or tuning, so many of the instrument's presets are provided in two forms - the original ("-o") tuning, which preserves each note of the instrument exactly as it would be played by the musician, and in conventional western chromatic tuning, which saves you from having to remap or tune each note
* Micro-Tuning 1. Browse dozens of micro-tuning presets from all over the world, and then play authentic non-western tempered scales of any size (from 5 to 24 tones) via any standard MIDI controller 2. Microtonal scale presets are organized by world region and by scale system 3. You can freely apply any micro-tuning scale to any instrument preset you wish, allowing you to mix and match micro-tuning scales with sounds from anywhere around the globe- for example, a micro-tuning scale from Indonesia could be applied to a Celtic harp sound from Ireland 4. Choose from thousands more scales, or create your own 5. The microtonal scale presets were developed by a world expert in micro-tuning and conform to the Scala open file standard (.scl) for micro-tuning 6. You can visit the Scala web site, browse thousands of micro-tuning files, download them for free and simply drag and drop them into Ethno 2 to add them as user presets
* Loops 1. Over 7,600 loops and phrases 2. Loops are typically several bars long and include one or more related instruments played in stylistically authentic fashion - loops are different from phrases because they are designed to play seamlessly over and over 3. Browsing loops and phrases with Ethno's browser makes it quick and easy to find the sound you are looking for 4. If necessary, presets are organized into sub-menus with scroll bars to help you locate sounds quickly 5. Use the Search Loops feature to quickly find loops and phrases - type in any text string and all presets with that name instantly appear in the list 6. Loading multiple presets is quick - you can keep the browser open while auditioning and loading presets into parts letting you build entire ensembles of any size with unlimited parts
* Sliced Loops 1. Sometimes you want to play the entire loop, but other times you want access to each individual beat slice 2. Many of the loops in Ethno Instrument are rhythmic in nature, but many consist of other instruments, such as guitar or vocals played in rhythmic fashion 3. Loops can be instantly divided into individual slices with a single click of the "Map" button, allowing you to play each individual slice from your MIDI keyboard, drum pad or other MIDI controller
* Phrases 1. Phrases effectively convey the authenticity and unique character of an instrument or voice by capturing the p
