It also prevents stray light from entering the lens to maintain accurate exposures, and its matte finish helps reduce lens flaring. Screw the hood onto the front lens element using the resin-constructed bayonet mount. This aluminum alloy lens hood enables the use of separately available 62mm filters and lens cap when installed.
