Open your desired app—be it an IK Multimedia product or a third-party recorder—and get started. Mac computers require no downloadable drivers to record, while Windows users can download IK Multimedia's custom ASIO driver. A desktop mic stand is supplied, as is a carry pouch and other useful accessories.

The iRig Mic HD 2 delivers incredible performance thanks to its 24-bit resolution and sample rate capture up to 96 kHz. 96 kHz/24-bit are the same specifications the pros utilize in professional studios. The mic itself houses a high-quality, gold-sputtered electret condenser capsule that ensures an accurate transient and frequency response throughout the range of human hearing. Able to handle a maximum sound pressure of 125 dB, iRig Mic HD 2 will stand up to recording very-loud sources in very-loud locations.

The integrated low-noise preamp lets you dial in just the right amount of gain for the optimum signal level. The mic also houses a headphone output with its own volume control. You can use this for monitoring the audio signal, or to send sound to an external device, such as an analog recorder, a mixer or a PA system.

iRig Mic HD 2 comes with a full suite of software that lets you start processing and editing vocals right away. iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch users will enjoy the included versions of the Mic Pack for VocaLive, as it adds a collection of virtual microphone models for you to experiment with.
