Garmin inReach Messenger Satellite Communicator (Black)

Stay in touch with or without cellular coverage using this Garmin inReach Messenger Satellite Communicator. With a monthly or annual subscription plan, Messenger transitions seamlessly from cellular to satellite coverage and pairs with your phone so can you text with no cell service. The Messenger also provides interactive SOS messaging to Garmin's 24/7 response center, TracBack routing in case you get lost, and inReach weather forecasts for your location or your destination. Compact and designed for outdoor use, the device will run for up to 28 days on a charge in 10-minute tracking mode.

In the absence of cellphone coverage, your messages, SOS alerts, and location tracking are seamlessly transferred via the global Iridium satellite network. Pair the Messenger with your phone and sync your contacts for easy texting.

To access the Iridium network and communicate with your inReach Messenger, an active satellite subscription is required. You can opt for an annual package or a flexible month-to-month plan.

Exchange one-to-one or group text messages with loved ones back home and communicate with inReach and other Garmin devices in the field.

In case of emergency, trigger an interactive SOS message to Garmin Response, a 24/7 staffed emergency response coordination center.

Share your location with loved ones back home at any time using your MapShare page or with your coordinates embedded in your messages.

Should you get lost, the TracBack routing feature navigates you back to your starting point the same way you came—right on your device.

The device's high-end memory-in-pixel screen gives you the ability to confirm that messages have been sent, and you can even read responses right on the device.

Check in with contacts directly from the inReach Messenger by using check-in messages that do not count toward your allotted text messages with an active satellite subscription.

Don't let the 3.1 x 2.5" size and 4 oz weight fool you. The inReach Messenger is tough, durable, impact resistant (MIL-STD-810), and water resistant to IPX7.

Get accurate heading information—even when you're not moving.

Get detailed weather updates on Messenger or your paired smartphone. You can even request forecasts for your current location or other waypoints and destinations on your itinerary.
