Product highlights and buying context
The Evno ABX-ST acoustic bass microphone system is meticulously handcrafted in the USA to deliver the most accurate and natural representation of upright bass. The ABX-ST is a wired, stand-mount setup geared for sound engineers that may need a free standing bass mic specific design or for the player who doesn't want to place the microphone on the instrument itself. The mic captures the full, resonant tone of the instrument while maintaining high gain before feedback—ideal for any setting from jazz ensembles and symphony orchestras to bluegrass bands and pit orchestras. The system provides clear, uncolored sound reproduction that lets the listener hear the tone the player has spent a lifetime developing, even in challenging acoustic environments.
The ABX-ST system features the exclusive Evno body that mounts to the included ST-CL stand clamp. This mounting clamp securely holds the extended 6.5" Stay-Flex gooseneck. It also includes the 7-point variable suspension ring, which significantly reduces common vibration issues caused by the low frequencies.
The ABX-ST system includes the PS95 preamp and power supply for standard phantom-powered wired operation. It also ships with a detachable cable compatible with both the PS95 and Shure wireless transmitters. The mic body terminates in a 3-pin mini XLR, and is compatible with wireless systems from Evno, Shure, AKG, Sennheiser, and McCormick (adapter cables for some systems sold separately or available in bundle packages). Though most acoustic bass players use the mic in a wired setup, the system's wireless compatibility offers flexibility for performances requiring movement or quick instrument changes.
