The Das Keyboard 4 Professional Mechanical Keyboard comes with 104 keys with Cherry MX Blue mechanical key switches and gold contacts, for a "clicky" typing experience. The keys are laser-etched and designed to last up to 50 million keystrokes. It supports NKRO and has an anodized aluminum top panel.
This keyboard has a dedicated media control with oversized volume knob as well as a two-port USB 3.0 SuperSpeed hub for charging gadgets and transferring data at up to 5 Gbps. An instant sleep button helps save energy. The keyboard's footbar, which is used to raise the keyboard, also functions as a ruler.
Mechanical keyboards utilize a different type of key switch technology for a more durable and unique typing experience. The Cherry MX Blue switch has an actuation force of 50 _g_ and offers both an audible "click" and a tactile bump when pressed, letting you know that the key has registered. The "click" comes from a mechanism within the switch that triggers when the key reaches its actuation point.
