With the CalDigit USB-C to HDMI 2.1 8K Adapter, output to an external display up to 7680 x 4320 at 60 Hz with DSC (30 Hz without DSC). Plug in the USB-C connector into a compatible USB-C device and connect an HDMI cable to the HDMI port and an external display. The adapter is plug and play so no additional drivers are needed. The adapter has HDCP 2.3, DSC 1.32a, and HDR support.
Currently, Macs, including Apple Silicon Macs, can only support HDMI 2.0b through their Thunderbolt ports. This will limit possible resolutions to 4K at 60 Hz.
