Audio-Technica ATH-R70xa Open-Back Reference Headphones

The Audio-Technica ATH-R70xa represents the pinnacle of the company's professional open-back reference headphones, offering an unparalleled combination of accuracy, transparency, and comfort tailored for discerning audio engineers, producers, and musicians. Designed for mixing, mastering, and creative workflows, this upgraded version of the renowned ATH-R70x retains its predecessor's natural and balanced sound while enhancing accuracy and detail. The result is a superior listening experience with precise imaging and depth, ideal for stereo, surround, and immersive audio formats.

The fully open-back design ensures unrestricted airflow, minimizing internal resonance for accurate natural sound and expansive, realistic soundstage. Weighing just 7 ounces, the featherlight construction incorporates a streamlined, metal-reinforced build, a reimagined headband for optimal fit, and replaceable velour earpads, ensuring exceptional comfort during extended sessions. Additionally, the dual-sided, detachable locking cable is L/R-signal independent to maintain accurate stereo orientation. Every pair of ATH-R70xa headphones is meticulously assembled with precision-engineered in-house components and subjected to rigorous testing at Audio-Technica's Tokyo facility, ensuring the highest standard of quality and performance.

• The fully open-back design relies entirely on the performance of the driver, with each diaphragm movement translating directly into sound, free from the influence of acoustic cavities or resonances that enhance certain frequencies.
• While the ATH-R70x employed damping and acoustic design to emphasize low frequencies, the ATH-R70xa delivers pure unaltered sound directly from its transducer, providing a truly authentic open-back listening experience with minimal distortion. With an extended frequency range of 5 Hz to 40 kHz, the ATH-R70xa ensures every detail of a mix is reproduced with stunning transparency.
• Constructed with carbon composite resin for improved structural rigidity, the ATH-R70xa combines unrestricted airflow and the elimination of internal resonance to achieve an exceptionally fast transient response. This ensures the clarity, separation, and precision required to handle even the most intricate and demanding contemporary mixes.
